re-introduce social interactions

 In Health, Healthcare, Lifestyle

Dr. Michelle talks you through a plan that can help you overcome your anxiety using gradual exposure.

Here are the steps:

1. Change your language: (instead of “I should” use “I will/want to/can” interact more socially)

2. a)Make a list: i.e. eventually I want to have a meal out with friends, go for a walk with a friend, talk to parents at dance or hockey, etc.
b) Order your list: number your items from 1) the least difficult in terms of anxiety to your most difficult.

3. Draw a ladder and create a hierarchy. The bottom rungs of the ladder are the easiest/ most doable for you and build up to the most difficult tasks.

Tackle your list slowly and approach what you’re anxious about rather than avoiding it. The button below takes you right to our FB page, where you can view the video.
